Guess what today is...

It's National Daiquiri Day! Who comes up with this stuff?

Read the legend of the original daiquiri here.

The original daiquiri is made with rum, sugar and lime juice. For an easier time with it, use simple syrup (regular sugar and water boiled down) and a juicer for the limes.

If you follow the same method and leave out the alcohol, it's fresh limeade. Either way, its quite tasty over ice.

What about slushies? Wouldn't be too much trouble to throw the drink in the blender, would it? Not at all. From a quick search on the Internet, I cannot find a national slushie day. So I say scoot over daiquiris. There is enough room for a National Slushie/Daiquiri Day today.
