Artists to Watch: Black

Who? Jamar Brown ‘aka’ Black

What he’s working with

Single "America"

Background Jamar was born and raised in one of the most dangerous cities in America; Camden, New Jersey. He is the founder of MOG Records and is an artist himself. His sound has been described as "Gospel Hip Hop"--Gospel that isn't created primarily for the church.

Objective Black aims to influence and edify the secular culture. "Music has become so vulgar in the past decade. Current secular artists promote sexual promiscuity, violence and acceptance of America’s diminishing morals," says Black of the music industry. Black seeks to inspire young people and give them hope and direction. His goal also includes other artists to follow this new movement.

With his edgy sound and aspiration to improve society, Black works non-stop to make his dreams a reality. His belief that the children of our country are our future brings forth a sense of hope for following generations to come.

Hype Black is already gaining much popularity within Market America. He was a featured performer at ma World Conference '09 in Miami, FL. Check out his performance here:

A combination of the new hip hop sound, with the ethics and morals of a community leader, Jamar’s music could be the change our youth needs. His music, and vision is more than welcome in our eyes, and for these reasons; we'd like to see Black as an artist who will stick around for a while! Let us know what you think.

Idol's Adam Lambert = The New Freddie Mercury?

Although Adam Lambert's surprising loss to newly crowned, American Idol, Chris Allen, left Lambert fans disappointed, a new, high-profile gig may be in the cards for the talented singer.
Apparently Lambert's Idol season-finale performance with rock legends, Queen, left a lasting impression on the band. Queen guitarist, Brian May, told Rolling Stone magazine that the band is toying around with the idea of Lambert becoming Queen's permanent frontman! Says May: "…[Drummer Roger Taylor] and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with [Lambert] at some point. It's not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn't that easy. But I'd certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there."

Would you like to see Lambert fronting Queen?

Personally, it seems very similar to "One Love;" however it has a completely different message.

Singled Out - One Love by Jennifer Lopez

How's this for an exclusive? The first single off Jennifer Lopez's upcoming album, rumored to be titled, "Jennifer Lopez - 10 Years Hooked on You." As the song opens, Lopez sings, "Took a shot with the badboy from the block, picked my world right from the start Mr. Wrong, he plays his part." As the song progresses, Lopez reminisces on past relationships, as she bounces from round one to round two, and then on to something new, each time she is left wondering if there is such a thing as she heads into round three, wondering if "there is a part for me."

With each love, Lopez is left longing and wondering, if there is "One Love" or if its just hard to find the perfect one to call mine. Listening to her new single, it shows a more mature Lopez who has grown stronger with each new relationship.

With her marriage to Marc Anthony (the fourth guy -- in a string of highly publicized relationships), and the birth of her twins, Lopez's life over the past five years, has taken on many new transformations. In my opinion, this is Lopez at her finest -- with strong beats and snare drums throughout, not to mention catchy lyrics, all that I needed was a Rastafarian hat and I would have felt like I was signing Bob Marley.

Listen to Jennifer Lopez's first exclusive single off her yet to be released album and let us know what you think.

These tees (as seen on Nicky Hilton) are called i/denti/tees, and they're so awesome! The design is a simple, black shirt which features an identifiable song lyric printed across the front. The coolest thing about these shirts is that you can feel great about purchasing one. The company has partnered with Apple iTunes to give away 10 free songs with each tee purchased. Plus, the tees are supplied by Edun Live (Bono's clothing line) - so each tee supports those who produce it in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Head on over to check out Loren's blog for her i/denti/tee picks, not to mention a sweet giveaway as well!
