Rappers not so hard when it comes to Freddy Krueger

If the original "A Nightmare on Elm Street" could scare rappers E-40 and Chamillionare, what will the new one do? I have to admit that it scared me too. And even at the ripe old age of 29, I still have a fear of waking up to find a dark figure moving towards me in the night.

Does anyone remember Will Smith's song "A Nightmare on My Street?" As I was typing this, I listened to the first 4 seconds and it brought back a bad memory of being home alone when this came on the radio. I knew the song would get stuck in my head so I tried to run and change the knob on the radio before the 10 second mark. The door was closer than the radio. I ran out of the house and waited for the song to go off before I would go back in the house. People thought I was a strange kid running laps around the parking lot singing Michael Jackson's "Beat it."

Thank you, rappers. Now I know I wasn't the only one. Anyone want to go see the New Nightmare on Elm Street? I promise to only jump in your lap once.

"Who Dat" puts J. Cole in the spotlight.

Sound the trumpets! J. Cole steps up with the new single "Who Dat." Definitely a head nodder with a horn section added to the chorus. Get it, turn the bass up in your car and annoy your neighborhood.

You may have already heard that Green Day's Grammy-winning album American Idiot has been adapted into a Broadway play - and is set to debut April 20th! If you plan on being in the New York City area, make sure to reserve your tickets for opening night at the St. James Theatre.

Here's a bit of info on the background of the musical, per the show's website:

American Idiot
tells the exhilarating story of a new generation of young Americans as they struggle to find meaning in a post-9/11 world, borne along by Green Day's electrifying score. With an 8 member onstage band and a cast of 19 led by Tony Award-winner John Gallagher, Jr., this high-octane musical includes every song from the acclaimed album American Idiot, as well as several songs from the band's Grammy Award-winning new release, 21st Century Breakdown.

Usher on American Idol; Raymond vs Raymond Album Debut

Did anyone else catch Usher on American Idol last night? His performance was scheduled to coincide with the debut of his 6th solo album, Raymond vs Raymond. If you keep up with celeb gossip, you might agree with me when I say that the title and cover art are more or less a description of recent happenings in Usher's personal life.

While the LP doesn't seem to house anything on the scale of past hits like "You Remind Me" or "Confessions Pt. II" the singles "Hey Daddy" "Little Freak" and "Papers" have gotten a good response and a lot of radio play.

So, what do you think? Will you buy Raymond vs Raymond?
