Artists to Watch: Black

Who? Jamar Brown ‘aka’ Black

What he’s working with

Single "America"

Background Jamar was born and raised in one of the most dangerous cities in America; Camden, New Jersey. He is the founder of MOG Records and is an artist himself. His sound has been described as "Gospel Hip Hop"--Gospel that isn't created primarily for the church.

Objective Black aims to influence and edify the secular culture. "Music has become so vulgar in the past decade. Current secular artists promote sexual promiscuity, violence and acceptance of America’s diminishing morals," says Black of the music industry. Black seeks to inspire young people and give them hope and direction. His goal also includes other artists to follow this new movement.

With his edgy sound and aspiration to improve society, Black works non-stop to make his dreams a reality. His belief that the children of our country are our future brings forth a sense of hope for following generations to come.

Hype Black is already gaining much popularity within Market America. He was a featured performer at ma World Conference '09 in Miami, FL. Check out his performance here:

A combination of the new hip hop sound, with the ethics and morals of a community leader, Jamar’s music could be the change our youth needs. His music, and vision is more than welcome in our eyes, and for these reasons; we'd like to see Black as an artist who will stick around for a while! Let us know what you think.
